How to set up Teams on a Tablet

To use Microsoft Teams on a tablet, first, download the free Microsoft Teams app from the Google Play Store (Android) or Apple App Store (iOS). Open the app, sign in with your Microsoft account credentials, and then use the bottom navigation bar to access features like Teams, Chat, and Calendar. For meetings, click the meeting link in your email or calendar invite, then choose to join as a guest or signed-in user.
1. Download the App
  • For Android: Go to the Google Play Store and search for "Microsoft Teams".
  • For iOS: Go to the Apple App Store and search for "Microsoft Teams".
  • Tap: "Install" or "Get" to download and install the app to your device.
 
2. Sign In
  • Open the Microsoft Teams app on your tablet.
  • Enter your Microsoft 365 email address and password when prompted.
  • Tap "Sign in".
3. Navigate the App
  • The app will open, and you can use the navigation bar at the bottom to access different features.
  • Teams: Shows the different classes or groups you are part of, with channels for organized conversations.
  • Chat: Access your one-on-one and group conversations.
  • Calendar: View scheduled meetings and join upcoming ones.
  • Activity: See a log of your recent actions and notifications.
4. Join a Meeting
  • From an invite: Find the meeting invite in your email or calendar.
  • Tap: the "Join Microsoft Teams meeting" link within the invite.
  • Choose: to join as a guest or sign in to the app.
  • Enter: your name and click "Join".
  • Set your audio/video: Before joining, you can toggle your camera and microphone on or off and adjust the audio settings.
5. During a Meeting
  • Camera Icon: To show your video, similar to a video call.
  • Microphone Icon: To mute or unmute your microphone.
  • Three Dots (More Options): To access features like raising your hand, recording, or starting the whiteboard.
  • Chat: Tap the chat icon during the meeting to send messages to participants.
  • Share Screen: If you are a presenter, you can select the share option to show photos, videos, or your entire screen to others.
